Job Purpose
To provide friendly, efficient customer service and administrative support, ensuring smooth daily operations at Gympie Landscape Supplies. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys customer interaction, works well in a team environment, and takes pride in delivering excellent service.
Positions Available
We currently have 2 x Casual Customer Service / Admin roles available. Each role includes 1 weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) as part of the regular roster and 2–3 days during the week. Both roles will also provide coverage for sick leave and annual leave when required.
This is an ongoing casual role with hours based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers in-store, over the phone, and via email in a professional and friendly manner.
- Process customer orders, prepare invoices, handle payments, and coordinate deliveries.
- Maintain accurate records of sales, customers, and inventory.
- Provide administrative support including filing, data entry, and order management.
- Assist with updating pricing, stock levels, and product displays.
- Communicate effectively with the yard and delivery teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and well-presented office and retail space.
- Support marketing or promotional activities when required.
- Provide coverage for team members during sick leave or annual leave periods.
- Demonstrate basic product knowledge and a commitment to workplace safety. Training will be provided.
Key Skills and Competencies
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and transactions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer systems.
- Positive, reliable, and team-oriented attitude.
- Previous experience in retail, administration, or landscape/building supplies (preferred but not essential).
Work Conditions
- Casual position – $32.00 per hour.
- Includes 1 weekend day and 2–3 weekdays per week.
- Coverage required for staff absences (sick and annual leave).
- Training provided on internal systems and product knowledge.
